About Dr. Sanjay Borude

Dr. Sanjay Borude is a Consultant Bariatric Surgeon with the Surgical Services department at Apollo Spectra Hospital – Tardeo.

After his MBBS and MS (Gen Surgery), Dr Borude accomplished FAIS and FICS. He did Fellowship from Cleveland Clinic, Miami, Florida, USA; Ghent University Hospital, Belgium; and Sanatorio San Jorge, Alcoy, Spain. He also obtained his Fellowship in Obesity from International Federation for Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) and Asia-Pacific Bariatric Surgery Society. Dr Borude has a vast experience of 40 years including 15 years of exclusive Laparoscopic Bariatric practice.

He is ex-representative of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of IFSO (2008-2010) and was also Vice-President of Obesity Surgery Society of India (2006-2008). He is the Founder Member of Obesity Surgery Society of India and was the Secretary of the same during 2003-2006. Dr Borude is also a Life Member of Association of Surgeons of India and Indian Medical Association.

Dr Borude’s research work is related to Ob or Leptin gene, Associated Polycystic Diseases and Diabetes Mellitus. Besides being the Professor for College of Physician & Surgeon, Dr Borude is also Faculty at Ethicon-Endosurgery for Training in Animal Lab, India as well as Co-ordinator, Lapband Training, INAMED, USA, for India.
