Dr. Gomathy Narasimhan is a highly experienced transplant surgeon with over 20 years of expertise in liver and kidney transplantation. She has performed numerous complex procedures, including combined liver-kidney transplants in both adults and children, and has a special clinical interest in primary hyperoxaluria.
She completed her MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College in 1996 and earned her MS in General Surgery from Madras Medical College in 2001. She received advanced multi-organ transplant training through an ASTS Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, USA, in 2006, and later pursued a healthcare management degree
(GMHE) from IIM Bangalore in 2019.
Her excellence in the field has been recognized through multiple honors, including the Young Investigator Award (ASI – 2001, CAST – 2003, ILTS – 2016), Woman Leader in Transplantation Award by TTS in 2022, Vocational Excellence Award by Rotary International in 2022, and the La Renon Tanker Foundation “For the Sake of Honor” Award in 2023.
She is actively involved in academic work, having authored 8 textbook chapters and contributed to over 70 publications in both national and international journals. She is a regular invited speaker at prestigious medical conferences and CME lectures
