Dr. Mathangi J is one of the few Radiation Oncologists in India who has vast experience in True Beam STX Machine. She has gained wide experience having worked in both national and international institutions as a Radiation Oncologist. She currently works as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at the well reputed BGS Global Hospitals, Bangalore.
As an expert Radiation Oncologist, her key area of interest lies in Brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiotherapy Techniques, and Preventive Oncology. She has worked in the reputed Manipal Hospital Bangalore as a Senior Registrar which helped her gain special skills in Brachytherapy techniques including Interstitial Brachytherapy of cervix, prostate and head and neck cancers under the guidance of a world renowned specialist in Brachytherapy, Dr. Sanjiv Sharma. She is also well experienced in treatment using adaptive Radiotherapy in prostate cancers as well as performing marker matched IGRTs. During her service at Manipal Hospital, Dr. Mathangi had the opportunity to garner the techniques of using Linear Accelerator- Elekta Precise, HDR Brachytherapy- Gamma Med, Planning systems – Eclipse, Pinnacle, BrachyVision, Advanced Conventional Simulator – Varian Acuity, and CT- SIM systems and machines which also contributed to her vast experience in Radiation Oncology.
Her commitment to bringing advanced and expert care has seen her attending various medical conferences nationally and internationally as well as presenting papers. She has presented the paper “Peripheral PNET of maxilla- a rare case presentation” in the State conference of AROI-TN and Pondicherry chapter. She has also presented a paper on “Stereotactic Radio Surgery in Arteriovenous Malformations” in National AROI conference at Chennai.
