Apollo Hospitals have been pioneers in healthcare and healthcare technology since its inception. The hospital stands firm and abides to its motto of providing best healthcare for one and all. Truly, Clinical Excellence is always in Apollo Hospitals’ DNA. The hospital is not only dedicated in providing effective
healthcare to patients, but is also relentlessly engaged in developing and adapting to new effective technolo- gies and treatment methods thereby to provide patients with treatment options best suited for them.
In this very endeavor, the hospital has introduced following new treatments, under expert guidance, that are minimally invasive and guarantee better treatment outcome.
Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) – MICS is a modern alternative to regular bypass surgery with many merits to it. Similar to a regular heart surgery the operation is performed using all arteries or a combination of arteries and veins removed from the limbs. However, only a small incision of 2-3 cms is made with no cutting of breast bone. Negligible blood loss resulting in no need for blood transfusion in most of the cases and reduced risk of infections makes this procedure ideal for older patients as well as patients withcomorbid conditions like diabetes. The biggest merit of MICS that patient only requires 3-4 days of hospital stay and makes complete recovery within a week. Patients undergoing MICS are able to resume work and normal day to day activity within fortnight or less than a month. Rotablation procedure – Rotablation is a procedure wherein a special catheter is used to remove calcified plaque from arteries that is causing blockage. The tip of the catheter is guided to the point of the narrowing in coronary artery. It spins at a high-speed grinding away the plaque on artery walls. The microscopic plaque particles are washed away in blood stream. Balloon sinuplasty – A type of endoscopic nasal surgery, Balloon sinuplasty uses small balloon catheters that inflate to drain the nasal sinuses. This provides instant relief to patients suffering from various symptoms of sinusitis such as breathing issues, headache, jaw ache and insomnia.
It is safe and effective, minimally invasive, reduced to no bleeding, short hospital stay( Day care/ Office procedure) and improved recovery time are few advantages of this procedure over traditional one. Your Health and Wellbeing was, is and will always be Apollo Hospitals’ Priority
